Rise 2018 Finalist award

Rise International Photography Awards

Port Hope photographer Alana Lee is Finalist at Rise International Photography Awards

Over the past year I’ve been continually challenging myself to learn and master my craft, so that I can always be providing the very best quality images and service to my clients and grow and challenge myself as an artist. Part of this process has involved entering my work in a variety of professional international photography competitions. Recently I submitted 5 entries into the Rise International Photography Awards, founded by world renowned photographer Kelly Brown. The Rise Photography Awards aims to raise the standard of newborn and child photography across the world, and to facilitate growth in photographers through critique of entries by internationally qualified judges.

As I watched the judging of all the finalist images live from Rise International Photography Awards in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia I was blown away by the quality of the work and creativity in each and every category. The critique and feedback from the panel of judges was so helpful in understanding how photographs are scored and what we can do as photographers to achieve Bronze, Silver and Gold merit as professionals in international competitions.

I received bronze and silvers for all 5 images submitted, and was humbled to be part of the Top 20 Finalist photographers with images placing in the Children’s category. I’ll be reviewing all of the critiques again and taking the advice to heart as I continue my journey and strive for Gold merit in next years competitions.
