One of my favorite aspects of photography is using creative elements and locations for a session. I absolutely love to capture a subject in an unexpected location or scene. I also get excited to work with different businesses in my community to support each other in a positive way. When it all comes together the magic truly happens – such is the case with this recent session.
I am often photographing dancers in studio and on location. Recently I had the wonderful opportunity of working with the Canadian Firefighters Museum, and they were very generous in allowing the dancers from Jennifer’s Jazz it Up Studio of Dance to pose with some of their fascinating artifacts. I couldn’t resists posing this lovely ballerina on one of the vintage ladder trucks. I just love the contrast between the graceful lines of a ballerina en pointe with the leading lines created in the background by the ladder and firetruck housed inside an industrial looking barn.
